European and international issues

The BVA as well as public administration in general is facing more and more European and international influences. For this reason, it gives its international tasks a high priority and strives to strengthen the BVA’s international profile in the medium term.

The International Affairs Unit is in charge of the BVA’s international strategy. It monitors recent initiatives at EU level, provides advice to the President and Vice-Presidents and assists the Directorates-General that are already involved in international tasks.

Therefore, this unit supports and participates in an active exchange of knowledge and experience with other (foreign) authorities and institutions, enhances internal communication processes with respect to international topics and promotes measures to improve the foreign language skills and EU expertise of BVA personnel.

Besides, the International Affairs Unit implements EU Twinning projects in the field of general administration in a coordinating role and in cooperation with a large network of experts in relevant topics.
