Upon application, German civilians who were required to perform forced labour during wartime or in the aftermath of war as a result of their German citizenship or ethnicity may be eligible for a one-time recognition payment of 2,500 euros.

The Federal Office of Administration established a project group to implement the Federal Government Directive on a recognition payment to former German forced labourers.
